Guests walking through the Santa Clara County Fair’s main entrance are immediately greeted by a delightful barrage of sights, sounds, and aromas. To the right, merchants hawk their goods in the shopping area, and looming ahead the kids’ zone, animals, petting zoo, and carnival rides stand ready to fill minds with memories. Themed-events such as Senior Day and Country Music Day on Friday complement live performances throughout the four-day festival, including a set from country singers Jessie James and Matt Stillwell on Friday, a demolition derby on Saturday, and performances by sea lions and a hypnotist every day. Attendees can also compete in a variety of events, such as a mother-daughter look-alike pageant on Thursday or a Lego building contest on Friday, in which contestants compete for the chance to build the next robot president. Meal options are also available throughout various outposts of the fair.
